Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse replace Syracuse, North Carolina in media poll’s top 10

Notre Dame sophomore midfielder Bryan Costabile, shown against Maryland, scored three goals in Saturday's 11-9 upset of then-No. 4 Denver.

Upset wins on Saturday by the Notre Dame and Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse teams and losses by Syracuse and North Carolina saw the four programs trade places in the top 10 of the newest Maverik media poll released Monday morning.

The Fighting Irish (3-1) moved from No. 11 to No. 4 after beating then-No. 4 Denver, 11-9. The Blue Jays (3-2) vaulted from No. 17 to No. 10 after throttling the then-No. 6 Orange, 18-7.

And Towson (3-3) moved back into the top 20 at No. 20 after upsetting then-No. 14 Ohio State, 7-6, in overtime. The Buckeyes (5-2) fell to No. 19.
