His other beats have included Maryland men’s basketball, other colleges and high schools. Zrebiec, who grew up in New Jersey, joined The Sun as an intern while attending then-Loyola College, from which he graduated in 2001.

The awards weekend will include the inductions of Thomas Boswell, Woody Durham, Bryant Gumbel and Dick Weiss into the NSMA Hall of Fame. Adrian Wojnarowski will receive National Sportswriter of the Year, and Kevin Harlan will receive National Sportscaster of the Year.
