The Washington Nationals added some depth to their infield Tuesday night by agreeing to a one-year, $3 million deal with veteran Stephen Drew, according to people familiar with the situation. Drew, 32, is a left-handed hitter who provides some power and the ability to play shortstop, second and third base.

Youth football: Paige Scheinberg of Cockeysville will compete in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick national championships Saturday in Indianapolis. Scheinberg, one of four finalists among girls 6 or 7 years old, will represent the Ravens.

Table tennis: Two members of the Maryland Table Tennis Center made U.S. national teams at the trials in Las Vegas this month. Derek Nie, 14, of North Potomac made the Cadet Boys' Team (under age 15), finishing second in the U.S. national trials. The top four make the team. Klaus Wood, 14, of Ellicott City finished ninth. Ryan Dabbs, 12, of Rockville made the Minicadet Boys' Team (under 13), finishing second at the trials.
