Jim Lehew, who briefly pitched for the Orioles in 1961 and 1962, died Friday of congestive heart failure at his home in Grantsville. He was 79. A submarine-style reliever, Lehew starred at Patterson Park before turning pro. In eight appearances with the Orioles, he had an ERA of 1.54 before back problems ended his career.

Women's college basketball: Visiting Morgan State (2-10) suffered its fourth straight loss, falling, 54-37, to Richmond (6-7). Braennan Farrar scored nine points, including her 1,000th career point for the Bears.
