Digest (Dec. 13): Johns Hopkins water polo players earn All-America honors

Johns Hopkins placed four players on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America teams. Junior Giorgio Cico earned first-team honors, senior John Wilson and sophomore Finn Banks earned second-team honors and junior Josh Kurtz was named honorable mention.

College track and field: The Mount St. Mary's had three players honored by the Northeast Conference. D.J. Workcuff was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week, Christopher Gabor was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Kayla Barnes was the Rookie of the Week.

Men's college lacrosse: Trey Wilkes, a former captain and standout faceoff specialist at Ohio State, has joined new Delaware coach Ben DeLuca and his staff as a volunteer assistant coach. Wilkes, a native of Ijamsville and an Urbana graduate, will work with the faceoff specialists. ... C.J. Ciserano, Jack Mangan, Mike Pascali and Kevin Verkler were named captains for Mount St. Mary's.

College volleyball: McDaniel junior Taylor Bauman was named to the Academic All-America Division III second team.
