The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted a motion by Towson University on Tuesday that would prevent Gavin Class from practicing with the school's football team until an appeal of a U.S. District Court judge's ruling is heard. Class' attorneys said Towson's motion to stay Judge Richard Bennett's ruling includes evidence previously not entered in court. Steven Klepper, who represents Class, said he is challenging Towson's motion. Class (St. Paul's) suffered a near-fatal heatstroke during a Towson practice in 2013. Two weeks ago, Bennett ruled it was safe for Class, a lineman, to resume football. Towson argued that it has neither the personnel nor the expertise to monitor Class' body temperature and ensure his safety on the field.
