Twenty-one players from the Baltimore area are among 109 invited to try out this summer for the 2019 U.S. women's U19 national team, US Lacrosse announced Wednesday. The players, representing 16 states, were selected from more than 500 applicants. Tryouts will be held at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks on Aug. 10-12. For the first time, players who have completed a year of college were eligible to be selected, though none of those players came from the Baltimore area. Most of the players, 48, just completed their senior year in high school. The Federation of International Lacrosse Women's U19 World Championship will be held Aug. 1-10, 2019, in Peterborough, Ontario.
