Terps women's Jones (Aberdeen), Walker-Kimbrough on USA Basketball rosters

Maryland women's basketball team sophomores Brionna Jones (Aberdeen) and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough were named to rosters for USA Basketball events this summer. Walker-Kimbrough was added to the roster for the Pan American Games, and Jones was included on the roster for the World University Games. The USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee issued the trials invitations to 54 of the best college players in the country.

More women's college basketball: Forward Michelle Wright (Baltimore City Community College, Dunbar) will play for Norfolk State next season.

Men's college basketball: Navy assistant Aaron Goodman was named Washington College's head coach.

College baseball: Towson freshman Kevin Ross was named Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week. … UMBC junior Conrad Wozniak received America East Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week honors.

Men's college soccer: CCBC-Essex's Shawn Geary (Dundalk) and Lycoming's Bill Kerr will transfer to UMBC and have two years of eligibility when they join the program this fall.

Women's college track and field: Maryland seniors Amber Melville (North Carroll) and Thea LaFond won individual titles Sunday in the Big Ten Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Melville finished first in the high jump, clearing 1.82 meters on her second attempt at the height. The senior won the high jump at the Big Ten Indoor Championship earlier this year. LaFond's title came in the triple jump, posting a mark of 13.48 meters on her final attempt to take the championship.

Running: Abigail Meyers of Baltimore completed Sunday's Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon in Fredericksburg, Va., in 1 hour, 46 minutes, 2 seconds. She finished 254th overall and first among five Baltimore runners. The others were Robert Smith (1:56:55), Philip Smith (2:04:38), Katherine Scott (2:06:59) and Elizabeth Cangialosi (2:09:42).
