Joey Veazey of the Baltimore Boxing Club will fight in his final amateur bout tonight in the main event at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie.
He'll oppose Chris Perkins for the East Coast junior middleweight championship.
Baltimore Boxing Promotions, operated by Meade graduate Jake Smith, will run the card as a tribute to his father, Murray Smith Sr., a longtime event promoter who died of melanoma in 2013.
In the co-feature, Upton Boxing's Tyrell Boyd will meet Golden Gloves champion Aston Sykes for the state middleweight title.
Clayton Frazier will face Elvin Rodriguez in a battle of Baltimore Boxing Club fighters.
Former basketball player Stefon "Showtime" McRay (Archbishop Curley) and Donald Wallace will also appear on the card in separate bouts.
Doors open at 6:30p.m., and the fights begin at 8.

Ravens: Former NFL wide receiver Brett Perriman, the father of Ravens wideout Breshad Perriman, is on life support in a Miami-area hospital, according to several reports. Jason Cole, an NFL reporter for Bleacher Report, wrote that Brett Perriman suffered a brain aneurysm. Breshad Perriman, the Ravens' first-round draft choice in 2015, addressed his father's hospitalization on Twitter on Tuesday night and Wednesday. "Prayers up for my pops!," he wrote Tuesday night. "He's the real definition of hard body so I know he will be walking out the hospital like nothing happen very soon." Breshad Perriman wrote Wednesday. "Just a matter of time, me and my Ol boy will be leaving the hospital together. #faithandprayer."

Ray Rice: Former Ravens running back Ray Rice and his wife, Janay, are expecting their second child, according to a spokesman for the Rice family. The two were married in March 2014 — the day after Ray Rice was charged with aggravated assault against Janay, then his fiancee — and have a 4-year-old daughter, Rayven. Ray, 29, and Janay, 28, will welcome their newest addition in early fall.

Varsity girls basketball: Chuck Miller, 69, who coached Severn to an appearance in this year's Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference championship game, has stepped down. He coached Severn for 16 years and compiled a 284-117 (.708) record, which included five conference titles.

College football: Dates for bowl games were announced Wednesday and two that matter to many local fans are on opposite sides of Christmas. If Navy is eligible, it will play against an opponent from the Big 12 Conference in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl on Friday, Dec.23, in Fort Worth, Texas. The Military Bowl will bring programs from the Atlantic Coast Conference and American Athletic Conference to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
