Quarterback Perry Hills, who suffered a hamstring injury earlier this month, returned to practice Monday, coach Randy Edsall said. "He felt good back out there. He needs all those reps and everything else. That was one thing — I thought our tempo could have been a lot better on offense. Getting him back out there helps us." Edsall also announced a number of position changes for defensive backs during spring practice, including McDonogh's Josh Woods (cornerback to free safety), Antwaine Carter (free safety to cornerback), Zach Dancel (strong safety to free safety) and Denzel Conyers (free safety to strong safety). "Just trying to get them some work at different spots, and whoever is our third-best safety is going to be in the game," Edsall said. The Terps also moved Damian Prince to first-team right tackle and starter Mike Dunn to left tackle.

Gruden hopes Griffin III takes job 'and runs with it'
In an interview Monday with Comcast SportsNet at the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix, Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden said quarterback Robert Griffin III has a "positive" mindset going into the offseason. "He's excited, he's raring to go," Gruden said. "He's had a first discussion with Matt Cavanaugh, our quarterbacks coach, and that went well, and I think moving forward, he's got the starting job right now, and hopefully, he takes it and runs with it."
