Kayla Bates scored 14 points and Alexis Carter added 10, but host Mount St. Mary's (9-20, 7-11 Northeast Conference) fell, 60-52, to Sacred Heart (18-11, 16-2) on Monday night in its regular-season finale. The Mountaineers will be the No. 8 seed in the conference tournament and head to Sacred Heart for a rematch with the top-seeded Pioneers on Sunday.
More women's basketball: Salisbury senior forward Julia McLaughlin (Hereford) was named CAC Player of the Year. St. Mary's junior center Nina Haller and sophomore guard Kerri Kline were named to the second team.

Terps women receive All-Big Ten honors
Maryland women's basketball junior center Brionna Jones (Aberdeen) and junior guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough were named first-team All-Big Ten Conference by the league's coaches and media Monday; senior guard Brene Moseley also was honored.
Walker-Kimbrough, a two-time All-Big Ten selection, also was one of five players honored as an All-Big Ten Defensive Team selection. Jones, a Havre de Grace native and former Baltimore Sun Player of the Year, was a first-team all-conference selection by the coaches last season. Moseley was named the Sixth Player of the Year and a second-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches.
