Syracuse men's lacrosse coach John Desko earned the 200th win of his career Sunday as host No. 4 Syracuse (2-0) defeated No. 8 Cornell, 14-6, in the 100th meeting between the teams. Desko is the ninth active Division I coach and third Syracuse mentor to reach the 200-win plateau, joining predecessors Roy Simmons Jr. (290 wins) and Roy Simmons Sr. (253 wins). Attackman Dylan Donahue paced Syracuse with five points against the Big Red (0-1). Senior attackman Randy Staats and senior midfielder Hakeem Lecky each had three goals.
More Division I: Duke junior midfielder Myles Jones scored three goals and added four assists and junior goalkeeper Luke Aaron made 19 saves to lead the No. 2 Blue Devils (3-1) to a 16-6 win at Mercer (0-2). The victory was the 350th of coach John Danowski's career. … No. 20 Army scored eight unanswered goals between the first and second quarters and shut out host Jacksonville in the second half to cruise to a 20-4 win. The Black Knights improved to 3-0, while the Dolphins fell to 0-1.

Stukenberg leads Terps past William & Mary, 15-5
Led by six points from sophomore midfielder Zoe Stukenberg (Marriotts Ridge), defending national champion and No. 1 Maryland defeated host William & Mary, 15-5, in both teams' season opener. Junior midfielder Taylor Cummings (McDonogh) had four goals, nine draw controls and four caused turnovers for the Terps, who started the game with eight unanswered goals.
More Division I: Despite a strong defensive showing in the first half, Navy fell to host No. 8 Duke, 10-3. The Midshipmen (2-1) trailed just 2-1 at halftime. With the win, the Blue Devils moved to 3-0. … No. 3 Syracuse used a 9-1 scoring run to pull away from visiting Canisius (0-2) in a 19-7 victory. The Orange (3-0) was scheduled to play Presbyterian in the second game of a doubleheader, but the game was canceled because of travel issues for the Blue Hose. … A run of 12 straight goals powered No. 9 Notre Dame (2-0) to a 17-5 rout of visiting Detroit (0-2). … No. 10 Ohio State defeated host Virginia Tech, 14-7. The Buckeyes are now 4-0, their best start to a season since 2012, while the Hokies are 1-2.

Terps to face Michigan at noon in men's basketball
The Maryland men's basketball team's Feb. 28 game against Michigan will be played at noon, the team announced. The matchup, the Terps' final regular-season game at Xfinity Center this season, will be broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2.

Sophomore Nick Cieri had a combined four hits, two runs and five RBIs. Junior LaMonte Wade (St. Paul's) had three RBIs against Old Dominion for the Terps (3-0).
