Former Hopkins star Rabil could be traded to Lizards
The Boston Cannons and the New York Lizards are in advanced trade talks involving Paul Rabil (Johns Hopkins) and Max Seibald, according to multiple sources. The principal elements of the deal send Rabil and fellow Boston Cannons midfielder Mike Stone to New York for the Lizards' Seibald and defender Brian Karalunas, in addition to draft picks in 2016 and 2017. The trade has yet to be approved by Major League Lacrosse, but a source said the deal could be approved as early as today, with a formal announcement coming early next week. A two-time MLL Most Valuable Player, Rabil put up 52 points in 12 games before his season came to an early end with a fractured bone in his foot. Boston drafted Rabil with the No. 1 overall pick in 2008, and he's amassed 362 career points and six All-MLL selections in the seven seasons since.
