The Towson women's lacrosse team improved its record to 3-0 with a 14-4 victory over visiting UMBC on Wednesday.

Kaitlyn Montalbano scored a game-high four goals for the Tigers (3-0).

Towson scored seven goals in each half.

Carolyn Jamison (Westminster) led the Retrievers (0-1) with two goals.

No. 15 Johns Hopkins 16, American 10: The host Blue Jays (2-0) opened with a 6-0 run and beat the Eagles (0-2).

Dene' DiMartino finished with a game-high five goals for Hopkins, which led 11-4 at halftime.

State men's lacrosse

Salisbury 14, Lynchburg 11: Thomas Cirillo scored four goals and the host Sea Gulls (2-0) went on a 6-0 run in the fourth quarter to topple the Hornets (0-1).

Nation women's lacrosse

No. 11 Boston College 19, Holy Cross 6: The host Crusaders (0-2) took a 1-0 lead before the Eagles (2-0) scored 10 straight goals.

Tess Chandler scored three of her game-high four goals in the first half for Boston College, which improved to 20-3 all-time against Holy Cross.

State men's basketball

Bucknell 87, Loyola Maryland 52: Stephen Brown scored 12 points and the host Bison (14-12, 11-4) beat the Greyhounds (8-18, 7-8) to maintain a one-game lead in the Patriot League.

Andre Walker paced Loyola with 10 points. The Greyhounds were held to 14-for-45 shooting (31 percent) and were outrebounded 42-28.

Hartford 88, UMBC 65: George Blagojevic hit four of Hartford's 15 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to help the host Hawks (8-20, 3-10 America East) beat the Retrievers (6-22, 2-11).

Pancake Thomas added 20 points — including five 3-pointers — six rebounds and six assists, while Jalen Ross and Evan Cooper scored 14 apiece for Hartford.

Jourdan Grant and Will Darley led the Retrievers with 15 points apiece. Cody Joyce scored 13.

State women's basketball

Navy 62, Lehigh 54: Christina Potts scored 14 points to lead the visiting Mids (13-11, 7-6 Patriot) past the Mountain Hawks (15-9, 8-5).

UMBC 58, Hartford 51: Taylor McCarley had 19 points and the host Retrievers (16-10, 7-6 America East) won their third straight, beating the Hawks (11-15, 7-6).

Bucknell 64, Loyola Maryland 42: Jeneh Perry had six offensive rebounds for a school career record of 252, but the host Greyhounds (10-15, 7-7 Patriot) fell to the Bison (19-6, 13-1).
