Roundup: Balance lifts No. 1 Notre Dame past No. 7 Duke, 15-10, in men's lacrosse

Mikey Wynne (St. Paul's) scored an empty-netter with 1:58 left to complete his hat trick as the top-ranked Notre Dame men's lacrosse team beat No. 7 Duke, 15-10, on Saturday.

The victory ended the Blue Devils' 21-game home winning streak, which was the longest active streak in the NCAA. Duke is 22-3 in its past 25 home games, with two of those losses coming against Notre Dame.

The late goal gave the Fighting Irish four players with three scores: Conor Doyle (Gilman), Matt Kavanagh, Nick Ossello and Wynne. Shane Doss made a career-high 17 saves for Notre Dame (7-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference).

The Irish had three quarters in which they scored four goals. Tanner Scott had a hat trick for Duke (7-4, 0-3).

Harvard 10, No. 6 Cornell 9: Devin Dwyer scored the game-winner, an empty-netter on an unsettled situation, with 32seconds left in the fourth quarter as the host Crimson (5-5, 1-2 Ivy League) upset the Big Red (7-3, 3-1).

After Domenic Massimilian won a faceoff for Cornell, his pass back toward the defense was intercepted by Dwyer, who faked once before putting the ball in the back of the net.

The Big Red trailed in the middle of the game, only to come back in the fourth quarter. Cornell's Dan Lintner completed his hat trick with 40 seconds left for the fifth and final tie of the game.

No. 9 Albany 20, Vermont 10: Lyle Thompson had two goals and six assists, and Blaze Riorden made 11 saves as the Great Danes (8-2, 4-0 America East Conference) beat the host Catamounts (3-9, 1-2).

Penn 14, No. 10 Brown 11: The Quakers (4-6, 1-3 Ivy League) used a 7-3 run in the second half to upset the host Bears (8-2, 2-1).

Nick Doktor had two goals and four assists for Penn. Dylan Molloy had three goals and two assists for Brown.

No. 11 Yale 10, Dartmouth 4: The host Bulldogs (8-2, 2-2 Ivy League) won their third straight, beating the Big Green (3-5, 1-2).

Yale scored goals on its first four shots. Conrad Oberbeck had two goals and an assist for the Bulldogs.

No. 12 Marquette 14, St. John's 12: Ryan McNamara and Jordan Greenfield each had a hat trick and the Golden Eagles (9-2, 2-1 Big East Conference) withstood a late 3-0 run by the Red Storm (3-8, 1-1).

No. 20 Stony Brook 13, No. 13 Princeton 10: Brody Eastwood scored five goals to lead the host Seawolves (9-2) past the Tigers (6-3).

No. 15 Army 17, Boston University 8: John Glesener had a career-high nine points (six goals, three assists) to power the host Black Knights (8-3, 4-2 Patriot League) past the Terriers (6-4, 3-3).

No. 17 Georgetown 9, Providence 6: Freshman goalie Nick Marrocco made 18 saves as the Hoyas (7-4, 2-1 Big East) beat the Friars (4-6, 0-2).

No. 16 Towson 12, Delaware 7: Joe Seider (Hereford) scored four goals to lead the Tigers (8-3, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) past the host Blue Hens (4-8, 0-3).

Towson has won three straight.

Hartford 9, UMBC 8, OT: Mark Monroe scored the tying goal with 0.8 of a second left in regulation, but the Retrievers (4-6, 0-3 America East) fell to the host Hawks (6-4, 3-1).

Hartford scored on its first possession of overtime to win. Nate Lewnes (St. Mary's) drew a slashing foul with 9.6 seconds remaining to set up the tying goal.

Mount St. Mary's 12, Bucknell 11: Justin Gosnell (Havre de Grace) scored what proved to be the winner, and Bubba Johnson had two of his career-high four goals in the fourth quarter to lead the host Mountaineers (4-6) past the Bison (6-5).

Johnson tied the game with 9:02 left. Gosnell put the Mount ahead with 4:34 left.

Mount St. Mary's goalie Frankie McCarthy had a career-high 19 saves.

Frostburg State 11, York 7: Spenser Love (Winters Mill) and Greg Bourne each had a hat trick to keep the Bobcats (13-0, 4-0 Capital Athletic Conference) perfect.

The host Spartans fell to 7-5, 3-1. Frostburg State used a 4-1 run in the second quarter to pull away.

Salisbury 20, Marymount 6: Carson Kalama (Bel Air) scored twice during a 12-0 run to help the host Sea Gulls (9-4, 5-0 CAC) put the Saints (4-8, 1-4) away.

Marymount's first goal, by Nathan Beard with 4:51 left in the first quarter, cut Salisbury's lead to 3-1. Nathan Blondino scored with 2:40 left in the first quarter to start the Salisbury run.

Kalama finished with a hat trick, and Thomas Cirillo had four goals.

Lynchburg 13, Stevenson 9: Austin Stewart (Loyola Blakefield) scored four goals, and the Hornets (6-4) outscored the host Mustangs (9-2) by one goal per quarter.

Lynchburg scored the first three goals, winning the first quarter 1-0 and the second quarter 6-5.

Pat Candon had two goals and two assists for Stevenson.
