The Mount fell to FDU in the NEC semis.

Earl Potts Jr. (Archbishop Spalding) scored 20 points with nine rebounds and Fairleigh Dickinson (17-14, 12-7) edged Mount St. Mary's, 80-75, on Saturday in a Northeast Conference tournament semifinal in Teaneck, N.J.

The Knights will play top-seeded Wagner in the championship game Tuesday.

Fairleigh Dickinson took a one-point lead with 4:33 to go on a 3-pointer by Potts. A 3-pointer by Darnell Edge a minute later made it a six-point game.

The Mountaineers (14-19, 10-9) cut the deficit to two after a pair of free throws by Junior Robinson with 1:25 left, but Potts hit another 3 on the next possession and the Knights held on to advance.

Mike Holloway scored 19 points with 17 rebounds — a career high for the freshman — for Fairleigh Dickinson. Darian Anderson scored 14 points and Stephan Jiggetts added 12.

Mount St. Mary's was led by Robinson with 21 points. Chris Wray scored 12 points, while Gregory Graves and Charles Glover both finished with 10.


Binghamton 49, UMBC 41: Pandora Wilson scored 19 points, but the fourth-seeded Retrievers (17-12, 8-9) fell to the host fifth-seeded Bearcats (14-16, 9-8) in an America East Conference tournament quarterfinal.
