Remenapp guides No. 8 Century to 18-6 win over No. 14 Liberty

Century's Jill Remenapp put on a show that Liberty would have rather not seen.

Remenapp turned in an 11-point performance Friday night, finishing with five goals and six assists to lead No. 8 Century to a surprisingly easy 18-6 victory over No. 14 Liberty in a Carroll County game.

The senior recorded nine points in the first half alone — with three goals and six assists — on a cold, windy night as visiting Century (5-0, 2-0) twice scored six in a row en route to a 13-3 halftime lead. The Knights eventually ran off 11 straight goals to go up 18-3 late in the game.

Remenapp "just sees the field very well," Century coach Becky Trumbo said. "She does it all."

Remenapp drove the Knights on a night where their offense clicked from the start. Trumbo was a bit concerned since Century hadn't played in eight days, but Remenapp and others helped shake off any signs of rust.

Angela Flister (four goals), Haley Bordner (three goals) and Alice Mercer (three goals) also gave the offense a boost. The Knights were able to keep possession for very long stretches, often beating Liberty (3-1, 1-1) to ground balls and kept the pressure on the Lions throughout.

"We ran through our plays beautifully," Remenapp said. "I thought we just did [great] with our plays. Patience is the key."

If Liberty goalie Schylar Healy (13 saves) hadn't made a number of good stops early, it would have been much worse. Amanda LeGar led the Lions with three goals, but after keeping possession for most of the first few minutes, Liberty didn't see the ball much after that.

Liberty coach Kristin Crutchfield is hoping her team has more fire when they take on No. 2 Winters Mill on Saturday.

"We were lacking in intensity," Crutchfield said. "Hopefully it's a lesson to them."
