Ferdinand's hat trick leads Blast past silenced Roar, 21-2

Max Ferdinand scored three fourth-quarter goals as the Blast routed the first-year Pennsylvania Roar, 21-2, on Friday night in Reading in the first game of a home-and-home series that continues tonight at Baltimore Arena.

Lucas Roque added three assists and one goal, and goalie Troy Hernandez allowed just one goal.

The defending Major Indoor Soccer League-champion Blast (3-2) scored the game's first 14 points before Corey Maret put the Roar (0-6) on the board at 12:34 of the fourth quarter.

Baltimore opened the scoring 7:31 into the first quarter on a goal by Tony Donatelli, assisted by Drew Yates, and Marco Mangione made it 4-0 less than two minutes later off an assist by Diego Zuniga.

Pat Healey and Roque scored in the second quarter for an 8-0 lead, and Aduato and Adriano Dos Santos scored in the third to put Baltimore up 12-0.
