Blast look to improve to 9-0 in third meeting with Silver Knights

Outlook: The Blast opens the 2016 portion of the Major Arena Soccer League schedule in command of the Eastern Division, coming off an 8-3 win at Harrisburg on Thursday. That gave the Blast a four-game division lead on the Detroit Waza Flo and Silver Knights. Tony Donatelli scored four goals and Vini Dantas tallied his team-high 13th goal on New Year's Eve as the Blast beat the Heat for the third time this season. The home team will try to beat Syracuse a third time this season Saturday, having outscored the Silver Knights a combined 11-2 in the first two meetings. In the first game in Baltimore on Nov. 14, the Blast scored four goals in the first quarter and rolled to a 6-0 win. Goalie William Vanzela is 8-0 with a 2.25 goals-against average, allowing 2.37 fewer goals per game than any other keeper in the league. Former Blast forward Jerjer Gibson leads the Silver Knights with eight goals and four assists on the season.
