Marques Oliver scored the game-winning basket on a follow-up shot as time expired to give the Delaware State men's basketball team a 74-73 win over host Morgan State on Monday evening.
The Bears (5-18, 3-9 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) lost their sixth in a row.
DeWayne Jackson came off the bench to lead Morgan State with 16 points. Tahj Tate led five Delaware State players in double figures with a game-high 24 points.
The Hornets (11-11, 8-3) won their seventh straight game.
Morgan State led 73-72 but lost the ball on a turnover with 11.6 seconds left. After two timeouts by the Bears, Delaware State's Jay Threatt dribbled the length of the court before missing a 16-foot jumper from the left wing. Oliver outfought two Bears for the rebound, then put up a short shot off the glass and into the basket before being mobbed by his teammates at midcourt.
