Patrick Lee, adding him and cutting cornerback Alphonso Smith.
In other NFL news, the
Philadelphia Eagles tried out veteran offensive guard Jake Scott and signed him to the roster.

Aqib Talib as he comes off suspension, but he's expected to be active this week. The Patriots cut linebacker Jeff Tarpinian to create a spot for Talib, the troubled former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter.
Denver Broncos were granted a one-week roster exemption for linebacker D.J. Williams as he comes off suspension.
Jay Cutler is recovering from a concussion and Jason Campbell is slated to start Monday against the San Francisco 49ers, the Chicago Bears reacted by signing a quarterback Josh McCown today.
McCown started twice in three games last season for the Bears, albeit with mixed results.
He completed 35 of 55 passes for 414 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.
To create a roster spot for McCown, who played collegiately at Sam Houston State in Texas, the Bears cut former
