UMBC senior defenseman Zach Esser was named to the America East first team Wednesday night.
The Forest Hill resident and Fallston graduate joined attackman Brendan Mundorf and midfielder Terry Kimener as the only Retrievers to earn first-team honors in three years. Esser finished his career ranked second on the school's all-time caused turnovers list with 79 and with 126 ground balls.
Senior attackman Nate Lewnes (St. Mary's) and senior short-stick defensive midfielder Steve Winsor made the second team.
A pair of freshmen in attackman Jack Andrews (St. Mary's) and midfielder Billy Nolan (Arundel) were picked to the All-Rookie team. Vermont freshman attackman Dawes Milchling (St. Paul's) was also selected to the All-Rookie team.
