Wrong bird: Wash. newspaper pits Ravens vs. Patriots in Super Bowl headline

Ravens are a type of bird. So are falcons. In one sense, then, they are kind of similar.

But in NFL terms, especially this season, they could not be further apart. One team is based in Baltimore, went 8-8 and has a quarterback whose elite stock is fading fast. The other is from Atlanta, advanced to the Super Bowl and is led by the Most Valuable Player.

Unfortunately, deadlines can make fools of even the best of us.

That's from Sunday's front page of the Tri-City Herald, a daily newspaper in southeastern Washington state.

A couple of former Ravens did play in Super Bowl LI, but unfortunately for the current Ravens, only one team from the AFC can compete for a championship, and it's not the team that didn't even make the playoffs.

Better luck next year, Tri-City Herald (and any and all teams besides the New England Patriots).
