The Wisconsin basketball team had one tough night.
The No. 5 Badgers returned to Madison on Wednesday after getting stuck in Pittsburgh following a 59-53 loss on Tuesday night at Maryland. The plane flying the team home had to make an emergency landing because of an engine malfunction.
The team posted on Twitter that everyone was safe. The Badgers stayed at three hotels in Pittsburgh.
Players studied Wednesday morning before leaving for Wisconsin in the early afternoon.
"Well 16 hours later and we have finally made it safely back to Madison," forward Duje Dukan said on Twitter.
The loss to the 14th-ranked Terrapins snapped a 10-game winning streak for the Badgers (25-3, 13-2). They will return to action Sunday in the home finale against Michigan State.
