The receiver who made his living making plays downfield in Baltimore was back at it Sunday.
Torrey Smith, who signed with the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason, caught six passes for 120 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers (whom he often torched while with the Ravens), including a 75-yard touchdown reception. San Francisco lost anyway, 43-18.
Smith had a quiet debut with the 49ers, catching one pass for 11 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. But his speed makes him a consistent downfield threat, something the Ravens really missed in their 19-13 loss to the Denver Broncos last weekend.
The way the Steelers are scoring points this season, the Ravens probably need to get the kinks worked out on offense before the teams meet Oct. 1 on Thursday Night Football.
