Terps wide receiver Stefon Diggs suffered a midsection injury Saturday. His status is uncertain.

The status of Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs is uncertain because of a midsection injury the junior suffered against Penn State on Saturday, according to sources.

Diggs, who leads Maryland in catches (52), receiving yards (654) and receiving touchdowns (five), took a hard hit to the kidney area while diving for the end zone early in the fourth quarter and remained down on the field for an extended period.

Although Diggs returned to the game, he was in noticeable pain while walking to the postgame media area after the Terps' 20-19 victory.

Regardless of the injury, Diggs -- who is third in the Big Ten in kick return average (23.9) -- will not be available when the Terps play Michigan State on Nov. 15 because the Big Ten issued him a one-game suspension Monday for his role in a pregame skirmish Saturday against Penn State.
