Maryland's Jared Nickens, Jaylen Brantley dance on 'Ellen,' receive custom underwear

When Maryland men's basketball players Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley appeared on "Ellen" on Tuesday, it seemed a safe bet that viewers would be treated to two show staples: Ellen DeGeneres dancing and a thoughtful gift.

Well, one out of two ain't bad.

Riding the wave of their #RunningManChallenge virality, the Terps stopped by Hollywood over the weekend to explain how they took a dance started by DeGeneres' first two guests, high-schoolers Kevin Vincent and Jeremiah Hall, and launched it into the stratosphere.

"Basketball is such a grind, especially at the college level, so we just try to keep our teammates loose in the locker room," Nickens told DeGeneres in the segment highlights. The show airs in full today at 4 p.m. in Baltimore.

DeGeneres was very appreciative.

"I made something special for you for the special game days," she said, before reaching into a bag and pulling out a couple of gifts.

Then, because life isn't fair and the NCAA is cruel, Vincent and Hall got $10,000.

Oh, well. At least Nickens and Brantley got to dance on "Ellen." Can Melo Trimble say that?
