John Clayton thinks the Ravens could take a chance on Pryor

Some of you were ready to get me fitted for a straitjacket last week for simply asking you if the Ravens should consider drafting Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor in the NFL supplemental draft as a wide receiver or a tight end. Well at least I will be joined in the insane asylum by ESPN.com senior writer John Clayton.

On his list of five teams that may take a chance on Pryor, Clayton suggested the Ravens as a possibility. They were third on his list of teams behind the Raiders and the Dolphins. The Steelers were also on his list.

"This might be a bit of a reach, but as a lower-round selection Pryor could interest the Ravens as a receiver," Clayton wrote. "Having him learn under Anquan Boldin would be the key. Boldin was a quarterback in college and uses the knowledge gained there to put himself in position to help his quarterback."

For the record, I never said the Ravens should draft Pryor (I don't think trying to convert him to a wide receiver would be worth all the trouble). Go ahead and call me crazy -- or whatever string of four-letter words you can come up with -- but I still don't think the possibility of them taking a flyer on him should be ruled out.

And if one more person tells me it's a slow news day while we're in the offseason and in a lockout, I really am going to lose my mind.
