There's not much to say about this one other than: The Internet is great and weird, and people have too much time on their hands, including me, because I found it.
On Monday, YouTube user ZimSmash uploaded a video entitled "Manny Machado WWE 2K16," and we indeed see footage from the professional-wrestling video game. There's the WWE Raw logo and a wrestling ring and a "BALTIMORE, MD" chyron and — good God, that's Manny Machado's music!
A surprisingly lifelike Machado facsimile appears on-screen, full uniform and everything. He struts and swaggers, taking far more time to get to the ring than he did to the mound after Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura plunked him with a heater last week. Approaching the canvas, which has been made to look like a baseball field, Machado dips underneath the top rope, only for one shoulder to go through it, because this Machado is apparently more otherwordly than the real thing.
He waits in his corner — presumably for Ventura, or a tag team of Major League Baseball rules officials — and soon his hat is off. Above him, an LCD screen reads, "Please [d]on't try this at home."
Of course, Machado could be suspended soon, and playing a wrestling video game as yourself isn't the worst way to spend a couple of nights away from the ballpark.
