The Baltimore Sun is breaking down where the Ravens stand at each position, including predictions on how many players the team will keep at each spot and which players are locks, long shots or “on the bubble.”
How many they’ll keep: 7 or 8
Long shots: Casey Walker
Skinny: It’s not as glamorous of a position as wide receiver, but the battle to win jobs along the defensive line should be every bit as competitive. Canty, Jernigan and Williams are the projected starters. However, defensive coordinator Dean Pees loves to rotate the guys up front, and he has plenty of versatile and talented players to keep the starters fresh. But the Ravens can’t keep everyone. Potential “odd men out” include Tyson, who is seemingly “on the bubble” every summer but has been a solid contributor; Bilukidi, who signed a two-year deal in February; and Lewis-Moore who has missed his first two NFL seasons with knee injuries. The wild card here is Means, who coaches have been raving about. Means could also be used in the rush linebacker spot, where the Ravens lack a little depth.
