Final mock drafts have Ravens taking Eric Ebron, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

Only a handful of people within the Ravens' front office and coaching staff truly know the team's priorities this evening, when the team picks at No. 17 in the NFL draft. When you take into account the 16 other teams drafting ahead of them, the potential trades ahead of them, and the potential for the Ravens to make a trade,

However, there's some consensus building in the latest (and last) round of mock drafts. Many project the Ravens could get a steal if North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron falls to pick No. 17. The six-foot-four, 245-pound Ebron can stretch the field and basically play as another wide receiver. Other mock drafts have Alabama safety Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix falling to the Ravens at No. 17.

Here's a list of what the experts in the national media believe will happen tonight, with each writer's comments listed below their projected pick. (As a reminder, you can see Aaron Wilson's final Baltimore Sun mock draft by CLICKING HERE.)

Peter King, MMQB.com
-- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

King's comments: "Party in the Ravens' draft room. They love Ebron's ability to be an instant force in the passing game and, combined with Dennis Pitta and perhaps Owen Daniels, the Ravens will have the best tight-end depth chart in football. Joe Flacco is very, very pleased."

Todd McShay, ESPN.com -- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

McShay's comments: "I've had Ebron going as high as the top 10 previously, but I think he makes more sense down here at No. 17 for the Ravens. They need another pass-catching weapon for QB Joe Flacco, and Ebron is a big-play threat who can stretch the seam and also make plays after the catch. He has the versatility to line up in-line, in the slot or split out wide."

Mel Kiper, ESPN.com -- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

Kiper's comments: "There are pretty legitimate questions about how "complete" a tight end Ebron is. Perhaps those even cause him to slide a few spots on some boards, but at this point, he becomes a great value, even if you're not drafting him to occasionally help the tackle collapse the edge in the run game. This guy is a difference-maker in the passing game, a long, fast match-up problem with the size to drag corners who try to pull him down after he makes the catch. The Ravens added Steve Smith, but they shouldn't be out of the game for another major target in the passing game."

Mike Mayock, NFL.com - CJ Mosley, LB, Alabama

Mayock's comments: "Mosley is a great fit for the Ravens -- an inside linebacker who played in a 3-4 at Alabama. He makes this defense better immediately."

Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com -- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

Jeremiah's comments: "Clinton-Dix would fill a pressing need, but Ebron is the bigger talent."

Charles Davis, NFL.com -- Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama

Davis' comments: "Will pair with last year's first-round pick, Matt Elam to give Baltimore a formidable last line of defense."

Charley Casserly, NFL.com -- Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama

Casserly's comments: "Will be a good complement at safety to Matt Elam."

Rob Rang, CBSSports.com -- Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama

Rang's comments: "General manager Ozzie Newsome is a master on draft day in large part because he sticks to the "best player available" strategy. While the hole at right tackle might literally be the Ravens' biggest need, pairing Clinton-Dix with 2013 first-round pick Matt Elam would give Baltimore a fierce, physical and instinctive young deep patrol."

Dane Brugler, CBSSports.com -- Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois

Brugler's comments: "Could the Ravens go safety in back-to-back years? That's one possibility with James Ihedigbo gone. Pryor and Clinton-Dix are off the board, but Ward belongs in that same conversation and would give the Ravens an impressive safety pair, along with last year's first-rounder Matt Elam.""

Pete Prisco, CBSSports.com -- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

Prisco's comments: "(Ebron) He isn't a huge need, but the talent is there. The Ravens would see the value."

Pat Kirwan, CBSSports.com -- Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville

Kirwan's comments: "The Ravens still need offensive linemen but they are too smart to reach. Pryor is a free safety with over 200 tackles and he forced nine fumbles."

Will Brinson, CBSSports.com -- Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois

Brinson's comments: "Ward's a stud and paired with Matt Elam would give the Ravens a ton of flexibility in their defensive backfield."
