A "game-used" jersey worn by Orioles closer Zach Britton fetched nearly $3,000 on Major League Baseball's online auction site Sunday night. It is technically an artifact: Britton, who went 47-for-47 in save opportunities and posted a 0.54 ERA this season, never had to break a sweat in it during the Orioles' loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League wild-card game.Manager Buck Showalter left him in the bullpen through the 11-inning defeat. Then Ubaldo Jimenez made the jersey a collector's item.No word on whether Showalter was the one who shelled out $2,650 for the jersey. At least Britton saw the fun in the auction.Zach Britton's "game worn" jersey from the 2016 AL Wild Card game is available for auction. pic.twitter.com/PfxDB75ipW— Baseball Quotes (@BaseballQuotes1) October 15, 2016 Lol... #falseadvertising https://t.co/OoQNz9zS87— Zack Britton (@zbritton) October 15, 2016
