In any story about Duke basketball and a public figure in Maryland, the most important fact to establish before exploring anything else is: Does the public figure have an affinity for Duke basketball?
So, before we go any further, no, Adam Jones does not like Duke basketball.
At least, he didn't before Tuesday. The Orioles center fielder decamped from spring training in Sarasota, Fla., for a night to head to Krzyzewskiville for Duke-Florida State as the guest of a Duke athletic department official. (Important note: Orioles executive vice president John Angelos is a Duke graduate.)
And he spent some time, in neutral colors, with the Cameron Crazies. Sorry, that'd be the "Camden Crazies."
Just don't tell him that Duke stinks. That's either insulting because he already knows, or it's upsetting because he maybe kind of, sort of likes Duke now?
