Orioles' Adam Jones is real star of the night at Baltimore's WWE Extreme Rules

Orioles center fielder Adam Jones spent the early part of his Sunday playing the Boston Red Sox. He ended it cosplaying the bodyguard for the "Million Dollar Man."

Dressed as Virgil, the personal assistant for the villainous Ted DiBiase during the wrestler's days in the World Wrestling Federation, Jones was ringside with a few friends for the WWE Extreme Rules event Sunday at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.

His commitment to character impressed the man himself.

That Jones and his crew would suit up as DiBiase and Co. is no surprise. Jones told SI.com last year that he has liked wrestling "ever since I can remember," and that among his favorites were Ultimate Warrior, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, DiBiase and "the original Undertaker."

Jones is no babyface. Just ask him.

"I’m definitely a villain," he told SI. "I need the boos. I want to be like The Rock. Stone Cold was always loved, for the most part. He had his villain moments when he sided with Vince, but people loved his attitude. ... When Pete Rose got in there, or Dennis Rodman or Karl Malone — who is my mom’s favorite athlete ever, including me — or when Floyd Mayweather was in there, just look at the ratings — everybody loves wrestling. When [the Houston Astros’] Josh Reddick and I play against each other, we say, 'We need a title match or a TLC match.' We’re athletes, but at the end of the day, we’re big kids."
