Jacoby Jones wants to do more than return kicks in San Diego

He caught just nine passes last year for the Ravens, but Jones sees opportunities for himself in the Chargers’ passing game. “A lot of the route combinations we have [open up] deep balls,” Jones said, via “That is right up my alley. I love to go deep. When you’ve got a quarterback like Philip [Rivers], he can change my role to whatever he wants. If he wants me to run a certain route or in a certain way, I’ll do whatever he wants because he’s Phil. And coach [Mike] McCoy and [offensive coordinator] Frank [Reich] have a lot of things up their sleeves that I like. I’m ready to pull some of that out, too.” He also calls he and his wide receiver group "Aliens," because playmakers can’t be human. So at least Jones is coming out of his shell after all these years.
