Notebook: Bayhawks' Rubeor is MLL Offensive Player of Week

Chesapeake Bayhawks attackman Ben Rubeor was named Major League Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a career-high seven goals in a 9-3 win over the New York Lizards on Saturday night at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The sixth-year veteran from Loyola High connected on 64 percent of his shots and extended his point streak to 31 games.

College women's honors: Florida senior defender Sam Farrell (Severna Park) and senior midfielder Brittany Dashiell (John Carroll) earned spots on the American Lacrosse Conference All-Tournament team after the No. 2 Gators lost to No. 4 Northwestern, 8-3, on Sunday in the conference championship at Homewood Field. ... McDaniel senior midfielder Paige Messersmith (Dulaney) was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team, while sophomore attacker Danielle Entrot (Centennial) was chosen to the second team. Junior defender Kate Keim earned honorable mention. From Washington College, senior attacker Mollie Shipley and sophomore midfielder Emily Hubley were named to the All-Centennial first team, while senior attacker Corinne Ziccardi (Loch Raven) and senior goalie Stephanie Seibert were selected to the second team. From Gettysburg, freshman Amanda Borucki (North Carroll) was honored as the Centennial Rookie of the Year, while seniors Mairead McGuirk (John Carroll) and Hayward Sawers (St. Paul's) were named to the first team.

College men's honors: Four local players on the Ohio State men's lacrosse team received All-Eastern College Athletic Conference honors last week. Defenseman Joe Meurer (McDonogh) was selected to the first team, goalie Greg Dutton (Calvert Hall) was chosen to the second team and attackman Carter Brown (Calvert Hall) was named Rookie of the Year. Joining Brown on the All-Rookie team was teammate Robby Haus (Gilman) at defense, as well as Denver attackman Gordie Koerber (Gilman) and Fairfield midfielder TJ Neubauer (Loyola).
