Chicago Bears rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller has been named the NFC Defensive Rookie of the Month.
The Mount Saint Joseph graduate is tied for the NFL lead with three interceptions and is tied for second in the NFL with two forced fumbles, leading all rookies in both categories.
Drafted 14th overall out of Virginia Tech, the first-round draft pick has 21 tackles and four pass deflections.
He's the only player in the past 20 years to have at least three interceptions and two forced fumbles in the first month of the season.
Fuller had two interceptions in the fourth quarter of a comeback victory over the San Francsico 49ers. He's the first rookie since 2007 to have two interceptions to set up touchdowns in the fourth quarter of a game. Former New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross accomplished that same feat in 2007.
