Melo Trimble has done a lot for the Maryland men's basketball team, but nothing so dramatic as this.
After poor free-throw shooting opened the door for a Wisconsin comeback Saturday, Trimble had the ball in his hands with 26 seconds left and the game tied at 60. He did not call for a screen. He did not drive into the lane. Inside Kohl Center, he just rose and fired.
Wisconsin missed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, because it does not have Melo Trimble, and the No. 3 Terps hung on for a 63-60 win.
