Olympic runner Matt Centrowitz (Broadneck) was in Winston Salem, N.C., on Saturday for the Camel City Invitational, so when he completed the mile in in 3 minutes, 54.02 seconds โ the fastest time in the world for 2016 โ a couple of Panthers fans probably were watching.
Apparently not exhausted by a sub-4-minute mile, he found an appropriate way to celebrate and pay homage to the state's current sporting icon. Then he added a little extra.
