Division III men's poll: Salisbury (13-3) moved up one spot to break into the top five in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III coaches' poll. Stevenson (12-2) fell one spot to No. 4, and Washington College (10-2) dropped two spots to No. 12.
Loyola's Paton, Schmitt receive weekly awards
Loyola midfielder Marlee Paton was named Big East Offensive Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office. The junior led the Greyhounds to a 2-0 week on the road, including a 14-13 double-overtime win at previously undefeated Notre Dame and a 17-2 victory in the program's first-ever meeting with Marquette. For the week, Paton had 10 points on six goals and four assists, and added eight draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Also, Loyola sophomore Hannah Schmitt was selected as the WomensLax.com National Player of the Week. Schmitt scored the game-winning goal against the Fighting Irish.
More Division I women's honors: After a weekend with nine goals, including the game-winner Sunday, Mount St. Mary's senior attacker Kaitlyn Larrimore (North Harford) was named Northeast Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career. In the Mount's 13-5 win over Sacred Heart on Friday, Larrimore scored three of her four goals in the second half as the Mount pulled away from the Pioneers. She followed up two days later with a career-high five goals, the last coming with 25 seconds left to break a 9-9 tie against Quinnipiac. ... Towson junior midfielder Rhiannon Coogle (North Harford) was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week, her second conference honor in the past three weeks. ... After helping Navy earn a 12-6 win over Colgate on Saturday, sophomore goalie Annie Foky was chosen as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week.
Division III women's honor: Salisbury junior goalie Ashton Wheatley was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
