It seems the Orioles' beltway neighbors have a favorite American League team. On Monday night, for at least the second time this season, the @masnNationals account tweeted the hashtag #IBackTheBirds.
MASN, which is co-owned by the Orioles and Washington Nationals, has nearly identical hashtags that are part of most tweets.
Instead of the usual #IBackTheNats, the account handler appears to occasionally have his or her mind set on Baltimore, backing the "Birds." Maybe it's a simple autocorrect mistake. Or maybe MASN has a favorite.
Reaction on Twitter has, predictably, been swift and sometimes hilarious.
Whatever the issue, @masnNationals should probably start double-checking its tweets. The Internet tends to immortalize mistakes.
