The list of baseball's 121 unrestricted free agents

The Baltimore Sun
Which major league players are free agents this winter?

The Major League Baseball Players Association has announced the 121 players who are XX B free agents, meaning they can sign with any team starting at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning. (I had always been told that former teams have exclusive rights until 11:59 p.m. Monday. What becomes of that minute at midnight, I don’t know).

The Orioles have seven on this list: Nelson Cruz, Andrew Miller, Delmon Young, Kelly Johnson, Alexi Casilla, Joe Saunders and Johan Santana.

There are also 32 players in the major leagues who could become free agents based on their options.  The Orioles have four of these: Nick Markakis, Nick Hundley, Darren O’Day and Wei-Yin Chen. The club is expected to pick up the options on O’Day and Chen and not on Markakis and Hundley.
