Former Maryland star and Indianapolis Colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson was reportedly arrested last night for simple assault in Washington, D.C., for punching a man over a parking spot.

Police told the Indianapolis Star that the incident occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday. NBC Washington reported that the other man was a pizza delivery driver, and that Jackson punched him twice.

Jackson was a two-time All-ACC linebacker and two-time All-American at Maryland, and he earned ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2005, his senior season.

The Cleveland Browns drafted him in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft, and Jackson made the Pro Bowl this season after signing a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

Most recently, he made the interception that reportedly set off the controversy about deflated footballs in the AFC championship game against the New England Patriots.

Jackson has since denied noticing anything about the inflation of the ball he intercepted in the second quarter of that loss.
