Former Calvert Hall standout Adrian Amos runs 4.39 40-yard dash at Penn State pro day

Penn State safety Adrian Amos improved his 40-yard dash to 4.39 seconds at his campus pro day Thursday.

The Calvert Hall graduate ran the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds at the NFL scouting combine in February, the seventh-fastest time among safeties.

The 6-foot, 218-pound former All-Big Ten Conference honorable-mention selection also bench pressed 225 pounds 21 times Friday after not doing that test at the combine.

Projected anywhere from the third round to the fifth round by draft analysts, Amos likely boosted his stock with this faster time. Amos also played cornerback for the Nittany Lions.

At the combine, Amos has a 35.5-inch vertical leap and a 10-1 broad jump. His 4.03 three-cone drill ranked second among all safeties.

NFL personnel attending the Penn State pro day included: Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley and offensive line coach Mike Munchak along with representatives from the Ravens, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars, among others.
