Jordan Wolf is expected to return to practice Tuesday after suffering a hip injury in No. 9 Duke's 7-3 loss to No. 5 Notre Dame Saturday.
The sophomore attackman left the game in the second half and did not return, but coach John Danowski said Tuesday morning that he is optimistic that Wolf will practice and be available for Friday night's contest against No. 15 Penn.
"If he's at practice today, yeah, sure," Danowski said of whether Wolf could play Friday. "We haven't practiced yet, so I don't know what's going to happen. But I would think so."
The Blue Devils managed just three goals on 37 shots against the Fighting Irish, and Wolf registered a goal and an assist before leaving. But Danowski said the offense's futility was not impacted by the absence of Wolf, who returned as the team's leading scorer from last season with 51 points on 31 goals and 20 assists.
"Remember, the week before [in a 16-8 win against Rutgers], Jordan had two points. And he had two points this week," Danowski said. "We're not predicated on any one player. We've never been that way. Jordan's a good player, but it's a team scheme, it's a team game. So it's never about just one player."
