The only thing harder than the U.S. being out of the World Cup is that there's no soccer for two days. When it rains, it pours. If it's any consolation, I am back with the Coffee Companion, which recaps the previous day's local sports headlines.
- The Orioles haven't stopped hitting home runs recently, with three more in a 7-3 win over the Rangers.
- Nelson Cruz is practically a lock for the All-Star game this month, but are any other Orioles?
- Orioles radio broadcaster Fred Manfra was back at Camden Yards Tuesday after hip surgery that kept him out most of the year.
- The Ravens traded the rights to retired/maybe not retired anymore/probably soon to be retired linebacker Rolando McClain to the Cowboys for a sixth-round pick, which is kind of crazy. McClain has a rocky past with the game of football, in that he doesn't seem like he likes it very much.
