There certainly haven't been many better in Baltimore in recent years, but according to an ESPN.com survey of those inside the baseball industry, there's only one manager in the entire game better than the Orioles' Buck Showalter.

Showalter was second overall behind three-time World Series-winning manager Bruce Bochy of the San Francisco Giants in a poll of 50 scouts, executives, coaches and media members. Showalter came up on top of several categories in that poll, and in a separate survey of 117 players who were asked which manager they'd play for if they had a choice, Showalter was sixth with four percent of the votes.

The Orioles manager topped the individual categories of "Best tactician" and "Best at using the entire 25-man roster." He was second behind Bochy at handling a pitching staff, and ranked highly in several other categories.
