He grew 6 inches in college, better to carry Navy on his shoulders. The Midshipmen went 76-17 with Robinson, the 7-foot-1 center who took them to three NCAA tournaments, including the Elite Eight in 1986. The All-American averaged 28.2 points as a senior, when he led the nation in blocked shots and was college Player of the Year. His pro career with the San Antonio Spurs featured two NBA titles and a Most Valuable Player award.
