The agent for Paul Rabil said the former Johns Hopkins lacrosse All-American will make "a couple of million dollars" through endorsement contracts over the next few years, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, calling Rabil "the sport's first million-dollar man."
Rabil, who now stars for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse and the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League, has deals with Warrior, Red Bull, Nooka watches, Polk Audio, EFX performance bracelets and Snap Fitness Inc.
"The biggest thing has been social media," Rabil said of his marketing success; he has more than 63,000 "likes" on his Facebook page, and more than 34,000 users follow him on Twitter.
The article included a photo of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick (Annapolis) wearing a shirt from the Rabil collection.
"Marketing isn't my thing, but I have no problem aligning myself with Paul Rabil on anything," Belichick, who played lacrosse at Wesleyan and whose daughter, Amanda, is an assistant for the Ohio State women's team, told Bloomberg.
