Orioles' Adam Jones recoups early loss with Ravens-Steelers Twitter bet

Adam Jones is off the hook.

The newlywed Orioles center fielder doubled down on his Week 9 Twitter bet with the 2013 National League Most Valuable Player, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen, and came out even.

Before the Steelers beat the Ravens, 43-23, in Week 9, the two players bet that the other would have to wear the opposing city’s jersey at his home ballpark. McCutchen would have had to wear a Terrell Suggs jersey to PNC Park, and Jones would have to rock Ben Roethlisberger’s No. 7 to Camden Yards.

Jones lost that one, obviously, and asked for double or nothing Saturday night from the Pirates star. McCutchen accepted, and the Ravens won the rubber match to advance in the NFL playoffs. That means Jones won't have to endure the shame of a Steelers jersey this year.

He also had a great chirp towards injured Steelers linebacker Joey Porter, which deserves just as much attention as the bet itself.
